Mobile Recording Studio

In the summer of 2021, Alex designed and painted our buddy Chris’s restored 1969 Chevy Van. The aim was to gut the inside, outfit it with analogue recording equipment (and white shag carpet) and transform it into a mobile recording studio. The exterior needed to reflect the 60s-era freak DIY spirit at the heart of this project, so Alex came up with this tattooed-body-style wraparound graphic. The Last Place Van is now fully operational, and Chris and his ‘pit crew’ have recorded several live tapings around Austin.
